DIY Jean Shorts

I'm pretty sure a lot of people bought a pair of jeans thought they were really cute and then just never end up wearing them. Either you brought them home and the fit wasnt right, or you just completely forgot about them. Well since summer is just around the corner here is a way to transform your jeans in to jean shorts. Really not complicated, and self explanatory.

What you'll need:

• old pair of jeans
• scissors
• a ruler
• marker

First just put on your jeans and measure where you want them to be cut. and draw a little line with your marker. Don't measure to high up, you can always adjust the length later.

Next take off the jeans and lay them on the floor, and draw a line going across the legs with the ruler.

Then carefully cut along the line, and repeat to the other leg of the jean.

And there you have it new, inexpensive, easy-to-make jean shorts.

Music Tag

Music is probably one of the only things in life that will never leave you. That may sound incredibly cheesy, but if you think about it's true. It doesn't judge you or make fun of you, or leave you. When you're having a bad day it can cheer you up, if you're having a good day it can make you feel even better. When you listen to one song it can fill you with a hundred memories, or just one memory specifically. It can leave you with a good, happy memory or a memory that you want to forget. But either way it makes you remember. In my opinion that's a good thing, because sometimes you need to go back to certain times in your life, and remember how crazy you were, or how stupid, or how in love, or how happy. Either way music is what gets most people through the day, including me. I'm going to be taking the 30 day music challenge and converting it in to one post, but i'm changing it a little bit. I'll give a song and tell you the reason for picking it.

Fine By Me- Andy Grammer
This song is so upbeat and just fun. It always puts a smile on my face and always makes me wanna get up and dance.


2. A song that makes you sad.
Let It Hurt- Rascal Flatts
This song is off their new album "Changed", this song honestly makes me cry every time i listen to it. I think its because i relate to it alot.

3. A song that reminds you of someone.
Long Live- Taylor Swift
This song reminds me of 28 people actually. This song gives me a bittersweet feeling. When ever I listen to this song without a doubt i remember last year, eigth grade year. It makes me happy in a way because I remember my class and all the crazy things i did with my bestfriends at the time. But it also makes me extremely sad because things have changed sooooo much since then. It's so crazy to think all the things that changed in just one year.

4. A song that reminds you of a certain event.
California King Bed- Rihanna
This song reminds of a party I went to in the summer, it's a sad song but the party was fun. But i just remember that this was my favorite song at that time, and I played this song on my friend's ipod multiple times at the party.

5. A song that reminds you of somewhere.
Knee Deep- Zac Brown Band
This song obviously reminds me of the beach. Listen to the song and you'll know why.

6. A song that you know all the words to.
Super Bass- Nicki Minaj
I can proudly say that I know all the words to this song.

7. A song that you can dance to.
Love On Top- Beyonce
Every time I hear this song it makes me want to get up and dance. I don't know why but it just does. I'm obsessed with it.

8. A song that makes you fall asleep.
Hallelujah- covered by Savannah Outen
This girl's voice is so amazing and i love this song, it's such a pretty song and the soft melody puts me right to sleep.

9. A song from your favorite band
Okay how about every song that One Direction ever sang. I'm just a little bit obsessed with this band. hahaha. Okay maybe a lot a bit of obsessed. How could you not be though !? Four adorable British guys and one cute little irish boy. It doesn't take much to start loving these boys. <333

10. A song from a band you hate.
Sexy and I know it- lmfao
I hate this band with a burning passion, the only reason i picked sexy and i know it, is because i feel as though that song was made for me. ;) haha just kidding..

11. A song that is a guilty pleasure
Hey There Delilah -Plain White T's
This song is sooo old but I still love it, everytime it comes on the radio i turn it up all the way, and just belt it out.

12. A song that no one would expect you to love.
Tiny Dancer- Elton John
I don't think people would expect me to love this song because its considered an oldies. But for some reason me and my best friend fell in love with this song. I think this is one of those songs that I won't get sick of no matter how many times i hear it.

13. A song that describes you
Yellow Shirt- The Icarus Account
I'd like to think that I'm normally a really happy person that people like to be around but lately, I've been depressed and going through things. My family notices it and always ask me "when are you going to be happy again?" so this song kind of says it.

14. A song you often hear on the radio
Gee I don't know because the radio only plays like five songs. -__-

15. A song from your favorite album
You Belong With Me- Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift's album Fearless I think will always be one of my favorites. I love Taylor Swift to begin with but this album i find i can relate to the most.

16. A song you listen to when you're angry
Underground Kings- Drake
I really like the beat this song has, and Drake's voice = AMAZING ! This song just kind of gets me pupmed up but also calmed down, i don't really know how to explain it. It's also a really great song to workout to.

Just A Feeling -Maroon 5
This song is just the definition of a sad song. I love this song so much though. I can honestly listen to it all day.

18. A song that you want to play at your wedding
Our Song- Ron Pope
Oh. My. God. This song WILL BE PLAYED AT MY WEDDING. It is seriously the perfect wedding song in the whole world. Every single time I hear this song i get so happy, and giddy, and it always makes me smile. Seriously the cutest song I ever heard. I'm so obsessed with it. I can't get over how much i love this song. I listen to it everyday. hahaha. <3333

19. A song that you want played at your funeral

Okay well I don't want to die young, but hopefully I'll die of old age, but people say I was still to young, because I'd be missed it. Don't sit there and think "wow this girl is concieted" but everyone wants people to miss them after they're gone, right ? Plus i love this song.

nuff said.

21. A song that you wish you could play.
The Best Day- Taylor Swift
This is going to sound so cheesy. But if I ever learn to play guitar I want this to be the first song I learn so i can sing it to my mom. This song describes how her mom was always there for Taylor, and it describes the relationship I have with my mom. My mom is my best friend, and I'm extremely lucky to have the relationship i have with her, because not every teenage girl has that. She's there for me on my best days and my worst. Love you mommy :)

22. A song from your childhood
Sister Golden Hair of Mine
My dad would always sing this to me when I was little, so this song always reminds me of my dad.

23. Favorite song this time, last year
I honestly don't even know. It was probably either Long Live or Super Bass.

24. A song that reminds you of your best friend
Friends in Low Places- Garth Brooks
Okay so basically last year me and my best friend would go around the halls just singing this song. So now every single time I hear this, she pops in to my head. We have a million other songs, but this one just stuck out at me.

25. a song that reminds you of a sibling
Headlines - Drake
Because this is the only song she can rap to, and she thinks shes cool when she does it. -___- lolll (:

Shoes for Spring & Summer

Obviously shoes are a big part of a girl's wardrobe. It is a necesity to tie your whole outfit together. So I'm gunna show you some of my favorite shoesthat I've been wearing for spring transitioning in to summer.

1. Gold Flatts

 In my opinion gold flatts can spice up any outfit. For me they add a little something extra. Also the gold color against your skin color can make you look a little tanner then you actually are, so they're a great way to fake a tan even when you don't have one.



2. Floral Prints

Floral patterns are obviously in for spring time, but they can also be carried in to summer. These shoes are great to add to any outfit. They can be worn with jeans or jean shorts and still look really cute. They can be dressed up or down, these shoes can be used for any occasion.












3. Boat Shoes

Like the saying goes Eeverything comes back in style" , applies to shoes. Boat shoes have made their way back. These are probably one of my favorite pairs of shoes. They are so comfortable and if you have kind of a boring outfit throw on a colorful pair of boat shoes and it can add color. So even though they are kind of a sneaker they can still be really cute.



4. Strappy Sandals

These shoes are great because not only can they be worn in the springtime but are also very popular in the summer. They're so cute and can be found in a variety of colors. The ones found above i got at a thrift store for six bucks, so if you look in the right places you won't have to splurge on a pair, because they can run pretty high in price like any shoe can.

Purple Smokey Eye Tutorial

Hello ! Today I will be attempting to show you how to create a purple smokey eye. I want to start off by saying that I don't have a good camera or lighting so some of the picture colors are off, but I swear this is a purple look. lol.


This is the finished look ( like i said before the colors don't show up on my camera how they should be.) , if you like it keep scrolling to see how to achieve this.

1. First start off with applying a primer all over your eyes.







I used Urban Decay's Primer.



2. Next apply a white eyeshadow on the lids of your eyes.

I used Wet n Wild's eyeshadow in Brulee.

3. Then apply a purple mauve color in to your crease. At first when I did this it looked really harsh, but it looks better after you blend it.

For the crease i used Hustle from Urban Decay.

4. Now you want to apply just a pure dark purple color in to your outter corner, and I work mine up and half way in to the crease, to get the gradient effect.

I make the most awkward faces applying makeup !

For this I used Urban Decay's Gravity.

5. BLEND ! You wanna make sure you blend all the colors together nicely or else you'll have harsh lines that are really not attractive.




6. Next apply a black liner to your eyes. I used Maybelline's Line Stiletto, but you can use whatever you want.

7. Lashes ! You can choose your favorite mascara and apply it to your top and bottom lashes. I used Maybelline's Illegal Length and then Rimmel London's Scandal Eyes to give my lashes some volume.

My Top 5 Mascara Picks

In my opinion it is essential to have a great mascara for a makeup look to be complete. Even if your running late for work or school one day you can throw on some eyeliner and mascara and still look great. Every girl wants to have long - full lashes, but some of us aren't always blessed with naturally long lashes. My lashes aren't as long as I would like them to be, but I'll show you how i fake it with the mascaras i use.


1. Urban Decay Supercurl Curling Mascara

This is one of my favorite mascaras. It is seriously amazing. It makes my lashes long and full. I don't even have to use an eye lash curler. This is a great mascara if your running late in the morning and don't have the time to sit there and carefully apply it. You can just quick grab this run it through your lashes a a few times and you're set ! It is a little pricy, but i often go to sephora and buy the sample size which is cheaper and lasts me quite a long time.



2. Maybelline Illegal Length

When i first got this mascara i wasn't too thrilled with it. I didn't understand what all the hype was about it, but then i realized i wasn't applying it right. With this mascara to get the appropriate length you want, you have to apply this kind of slowly through your lashes. If you apply it too quickly the fiber extensions won't attach to your lashes. This isn't a product you can quick throw on, you have to work with it. But in the end you will be satisfied with the results, and it's a drugstore product so it won't be hurting your wallet.



3. Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes

If you're looking for long wispy lashes this is definetly the mascara for you ! I really don't have anything bad to say about this product. The unique brush makes it easy to reach your inner corner lashes. It legit gives you doll lashes. It makes your lashes fanned out and just gorgeous. it doesnt really give you the full looking affect, but somedays you might want to change it up.



4. Rimmel London Scandal Eyes

If you want the full thick lashes this a good drugstore product for that. This mascara reminds me a lot of Benefit's Bad Gal Lash, it has an identical brush to it. But i actually prefer this one to the Benefit one, i think this one is more thickening. This mascara is great for lower lashes ! This is what i mainly use this product for, it really makes the lower lashes stand out.



5. Fresh Supernova Mascara

I recieved this product as a sample with something I bought from sephora online. When I first got it I didn't think it would be that great. I thought it would be clumpy and just make my lashes look horrible,  but boy was I wrong ! This mascara does it all ; it lengthens, thickens, and fans out lashes to prefection. I absolutely love this mascara. The only bad thing about this product is that it dries out in the bottle quicker then other mascaras. But i guess that just means you have to use it faster !

Add A Pop of Color in to Your Everyday Makeup !

       A spring trend that i have been noticing a lot this year is colorful eyeshadows. Many people are breaking out of the neautral eyes and trying some different colors on the eyes. I personal love this new take on eyeshadow, I was becoming quite bored of the same brown neautral looks.


Blues !

Lately my favorite look that I've been wearing a lot recently, is blue eyeshadow. This is a hit or miss for people. A lot of people think that it can be too seventies looking (like when they used to wear the bright blue eyeshadow and bold red lips). But i think if you apply right it actually looks really pretty. I find that blue eyeshadow compliments blue eyes very nicely, but i bet brown or green eyes can definetly pull of this look !

Purple !

I love the trend of purple for eyeshadow. I think it compliments every color ! Purples can be used for a flirty day look or a smoky night look. its a very universal color. Purples look especially good on brown and green eyes, but like i said before i think it compliments every eye color. What i really like doing is pairing purple with gold, so you get that bronzed - aztecy look.

 But if you're not in to the gold look a white eyeshadow on the lid looks
really nice when you blend it in with the purple.

 

Pink !

A cute and flirty way to add color in to your makeup is by using pinks. Pink to me is a more subtle way of incorporating color on your eyes. I like to use a pretty pink on the lid then blend in with a brown in the crease. This is a very simple idea and compliments any eye color.

These are some Pretty pink eyeshadow ideas i found. I also like to add a winged eyeliner if i used pink eyeshadow, i think it gives it something extra.

Gold !

I have been loving gold on eyes lately. If you're not ready to wear bright colors on your eyes but still want to change it up from the neutral looks, gold is a great way to do this. It's not a drastic change from browns but still is noticeable. 

This is my take on gold eyeshadow. I call this my "hunger games" look because it reminds of the Hunger Games. I use a pure gold color on my lids and i blend it in with a matte black and usually bring the black under my lower lash line. But you can do your own take on the gold trend.
